How would you have preferred he put it (for the average readers) Amos: the cold virions that will hop into your host cells so it can get it's genetic info in there to spread? The point of the article is just when it is or is not a good idea to exercise -it's not a scientif journal. Did you hang your mistletoe this year?

"Cold germs"?! Really?
Wow.. you really have no grip on biology do you?
A cold is caused by a virus, NOT by "germs" (bacteria).

They say don't exercise if you have a cough or symptoms below the neck. My coughs typically drag on for 4 weeks. Does that mean stop exercising until the cough is completely gone?

I remembered this episode when I woke up miserable this morning from a cold. No fever, maybe some aches, but definitely a poor night's rest, so I skipped the workout. I will take some short exercise breaks during the day.

Vanessa take probiotics to help with your digestive problems, I used kefir, both goat milk kefir and coconut milk kefir to restore the necessary digestive enzymes that I needed, my lactose problems are greatly improved and this is also related to your immune system...understand that antibiotics hurt your stomach flora causing both problems.

Thanks Ben, I am on a pretty strict diet. I am lactose intolerant, so I consume very little of that. I do eat a wheat sandwich almost every day, though.

This is not be construed as medical advice, but I'd take a very close look at your diet. Try eliminating dairy and gluten for 2 weeks and see what happens.

Thanks Get-Fit Guy!

This really did help. I am just a little confused though. I have been dieting & exercising regulary for about eight months now (& have proudly lost over 20 pounds!). I also have chronic allergies & sinusitus. I have had sinus infections for probably 4 of those 8 months. I often wonder why my workouts are not getting me healthier. My immune system does not seem to be getting better at all. Any additional advice?
