Hogwash! Obviously these supposed researchers have never lived in sincere cold climates. The body instinctively, ( we humans still have instincts!), goes into survival mode and stores fat regardless of exercise. I have a feeling this supposed theory is trying to get legs and probably will in order to put out some sort of new weight loss products, equipment, ice cubes etc. Anything to make a buck!

People on our paleo forum have been using the "Cool Fat Burner" instead of ice baths and cold showers to engage in cold thermogenesis.

Seems like its working for everyone who uses it.

Our new KewlFit Cooling Vest maintains the same 14°C Harvard Medical School used to activate Brown Adipose Tissue. Our vest will maintain this temperature for up to 3 hours allowing you to stimulate BAT comfortably!

You can also wear it to the gym as academic research shows will help with your stamina, performance and increase your ability to perform before fatigue is reached!

I find it impossible to believe that the human body is capable of producing fat from nothing just because it is cold. If you get cold the body burns calories to warm up... it can't un-burn them ... that fat is gone.

At best the body MIGHT trigger a stronger appetite in response to the cold .. but let's face it... our modern diets are already including many more calories than we need.

I’ve long heard that swimming, especially in cooler water, is great for general health, but not well suited to those trying to lose weight. Those studies suggested that while swimming burns plenty of calories, the cold water causes your body to shore up its insulating fat reserves by increasing your post-workout appetite, making swimming the least effective cardio workout for weight loss. I’m curious if more recent studies have overturned this cold water / increased appetite finding? Thanks Ben.
